BIG018 | Izzy & the Fins | Mirrorball

$25.00

Artist: Izzy and the Fins

Description: Like all great musicians, Isaiah Morfin dropped out of Berklee College of Music and got a job working at a gas station in Bakersfield. He made extra money playing Charlie Parker tunes on alto sax in front of the local Walmart. Morfin bought a Korg Minilogue and started writing songs about urban decay and not too distant futures. He reached out to producer Chris Schlarb who bought into the vision and recruited drummers Danny Frankel and John Miranda. Long time BIG EGO session musician Tony Rinaldi and guitarist Jason Heninger each contributed mightily and two years later the group has released their first album , “Mirrorball”.

Press:

“The whole album evokes an otherworldly sense of alienation and observation, like a cosmic watcher armed with a keyboard and drum machine, burdened with the melancholy task of opaquely reporting on the profundity of what they've seen.” - Bakersfield.com
